Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Greetings!

On behalf of everyone at Futbol Club Valencia, please know how thankful we are for your dedication, patience, unquestionable strength, character and support for our efforts to train and develop your young soccer players since March – virtually and in person over the last few months.

So much has changed since March – the world around us, our neighborhoods, gathering spaces, the places we work and call home. Life in the midst of COVID-19 has sparked fear, frustration and anxiety all around. It is easy for distractions, criticism and stress to creep in. There have been changing directions from both Cal South and Coast Soccer League but we continue to work with our teams to be creative within the protocols that are in place – and, in spite of that, to celebrate our resilience with positivity.   Nothing is more important than ensuring the health and safety of our families, friends and the community.

Per the most recent communication from Coast Soccer League, we look forward to the anticipated season beginning on January 9, 2021, and for additional direction by Cal South and the State about moving into more competitive training phases, beyond the current Phase 1.5 protocol.  Fortunately, we have been able to secure fields for training through December and will receive details shortly about additional training and game field allocations for January and beyond.

Everyone, at every age, plays an important role in stopping the spread of this infection and we again pledge our commitment to training in safety.   As an organization, we are hopeful for a vaccine and enhanced treatment protocols, thereby allowing for us to look at this difficult time in the “rearview mirror.”  When we do, it will be with immense pride in how we individually and collectively, responded.

We encourage you to continue supporting the hard work of our coaching staff by attending practice sessions so that the entire team will be ready and prepared when tournament play and the league competition opens up.   Like all of our colleagues in the non-profit soccer world, everyone is taking an economic hit and we are truly thankful for the selfless dedication of our coaching staff and volunteers who help keep things moving along for the well-being of your children.

We have so much to be thankful for and appreciate your loyalty to FC Valencia through this most difficult year.  Wishing you and your family a harvest of blessings this Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Futbol Club Valencia ~ Board of Directors
